One of the most popular higher-number Bill Graham concert posters of all time is BG-222, for this 1970 benefit concert held at Winterland in San Francisco to raise funds for the Grateful Dead’s recent drug bust in New Orleans. Headliners Jefferson Airplane were joined by Quicksilver Messenger Service, Santana, It’s a Beautiful Day and Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks. Also shown is the monochrome version, which was printed in smaller numbers. Enthusiastically discussed by collector Pete Howard of PosterCentral.com (phone 805-540-0020, email pete@postercentral.com).
