Here’s one you didn’t see coming: A 1970 Janis Joplin concert poster from the Bay Area with Southwind second-billed and a “3^rd group to be announced.” Well, it so happens that the third group was none other than Fritz, featuring a very young Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. Miss Nicks was actually able to meet her hero backstage that night, and has discussed it in interviews and biographies. (Why didn’t anyone have a camera, darn it?!) So if you’re strictly a Stevie collector, this poster might be a bit of a stretch, without Fritz’s name on there. But if you’re a Janis fan or collector it’s a great poster, knowing that a present and future queen of rock ’n’ roll did some torch-passing on this occasion.
