Globe Posters out of Baltimore, MD made some of the most appealing concert posters of the 1950s and ’60s (and beyond), with the intent for all posters to be torn down & thrown away the day after the event. Hard to believe now, but true. And here are three examples of Globe in the late ’60s churning out multi-act posters for some of the biggest R&B acts of the day: Sam & Dave plus Curtis Mayfield’s Impressions in 1968, Jackie Wilson in the same year, and The Temptations’ David Ruffin plus Kool & The Gang in 1969. All three posters are quite large, made of cardboard and very colorful. Enthusiastically discussed by collector Pete Howard of PosterCentral.com (phone 805-540-0020, email pete@postercentral.com).
