Bill Haley And His Comets were the world’s first bona fide rock stars, going to #1 with “Rock Around the Clock” while Elvis was still toiling away in C&W honky-tonks. And the first of these two posters I’m showing today harkens from that exact year – 1955. Then I move to 1957 with a fully realized, fully autographed Haley-Comets window card from the Evergreen Ballroom in Olympia, WA. Which of the two do you prefer? The first one is from his peak year, but is a tour blank not yet filled in. The second one is complete and more dynamic, but covered with modern-day Sharpie autographs… a plus for some, a minus for others.
