Acid Test Flyer Advertising Handout 1966 Grateful Dead at S.F. State

An original advertising handbill from S.F. State College for the last legendary “Acid Test” event before LSD was made illegal in California (in October 1966). Nicknamed “Whatever It Is” or “The X Handbill,” this charismatic little piece is not great artistically, but it represents oodles of history — both the Grateful Dead and head Merry Prankster Ken Kesey were there. Enthusiastically discussed by collector Pete Howard of PosterCentral.com (phone 805-540-0020, email pete@postercentral.com). If you’re into the psychedelic scene, be sure to check out some vintage psychedelic concert posters shown on this page right here on my web site: http://www.postercentral.com/psychedelic.htm
