Janis Joplin Grateful Dead Concert Poster 1966 Fillmore Benefit

A highly unusual 1966 Bill Graham benefit concert poster at the Fillmore Auditorium featuring Janis Joplin fronting Big Brother & the Holding Company, the Quicksilver Messenger Service, soon-to-be huge hit-makers The Grass Roots, and even famed poster artist Rick Griffin performing as part of The Jook Savages. Alas, even though they’re on the poster, the Grateful Dead did not appear. It’s almost surreal that this 10-hour multi-layered show was a benefit for a children’s day camp! Enthusiastically discussed by collector Pete Howard of PosterCentral.com (phone 805-540-0020, email pete@postercentral.com).
