A vintage concert poster for Smokey Robinson and the Miracles appearing on June 1, 1966 at the Continental Club in Oakland, CA.
This original window card measures 14×22” and was produced by Tilghman Press of Oakland, California.
This concert placard was designed with the popular “boxing-style” look featuring block lettering, lots of song titles, pictures of the acts and ticket-purchasing information. It’s these elements which comprise a classic concert billboard from the Sixties (not including, of course, the entirely different psychedelic world).
The timing of this show was perfectly placed in the Miracles’ career, because Going to a Go-Go, their most recent album, was the best-seller of their career,, and it spawned no fewer than four Top 20 pop singles, including the classic “Tracks of My Tears.”

Original concert posters featuring Motown Records acts such as the Miracles, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, etc. are generally scarce and therefore quite collectible.
