An amazing, collectible January 1966 advertising handbill for the Matrix nightclub in San Francisco’s Fillmore district, featuring three pillars of the S.F. psych-rock scene when they were just starting out: the Grateful Dead, the Jefferson Airplane and Big Brother & the Holding Company.
This early Matrix concert handbill is presented, with a brief history lesson, by California collector Peter Howard. That’s me, and if you wish to reach me, I can be contacted at pete@postercentral.com or by calling (805) 540-0020. Do keep in mind that I pay the BEST PRICES IN THE HOBBY, period, for the very oldest examples of San Francisco psych-rock memorabilia, especially 1965 and ’66.
